About the Jeweller

Christy Wade is the goldsmith/bench goblin behind Rabbit’s Burrow Jewellery. Working primarily in silver, bronze, copper, wood, and fur, her art jewellery explores the relationship between narrative and humour using the imagery of wild animals as a catalyst. She is inspired by Canadian wildlife, specifically traditional game animals, and forms them into funny, wearable pieces of art. As an avid reader, many of her ideas stem from various books, stories, and fairy tales. Her work has been shown extensively at the Alberta College of Art + Design as well as in various exhibitions around the City of Calgary. She has a full time job working as a goldsmith for Carati Fine Jewellers in Calgary.
